A power supply is an electrical device that offers electric power to an electrical load such as laptop computer, server, or other electronic devices. The main function of a power supply is to convert electric current from a source to the correct voltage, current, and frequency to power the load. It could be AC to DC or DC to DC.

How to convert from AC to DC & how does adapter work?

Before talking about how to convert AC to DC, firstly, we need to know why to do so.
The reason is that in our lives, the power source/system in houses and buildings is either the 100Vac or 200Vac. However, lots of electronic devices work under 5Vdc or 3.3Vdc. Therefore, it requires to convert from AC to DC. Otherwise, electronic devices will not work properly.
